Terri Lee Reigns Again
Tustin, CA – August 16, 2004 – The Terri Lee Family in conjunction with Terri Lee Associates proudly announces the limited edition 2004 collection of Terri Lee dolls.
Especially exciting are the first two in a series of Tiny Terri Travel Dolls. These beautifully fashioned state representatives incorporate the meticulous detailing that has sustained Terri Lee’s collectability for nearly 60 years.
Not only are the dolls themselves collectable, the special state charms that accompany them — each fashioned for a child’s bracelet, available separately — are also sure to become collectors’ items. Fun facts about each state are also provided and, as more travel dolls are introduced, the promise of collecting additional charms becomes an extra enticement.
The full size 16” Terri Lee Chick Mohair is the company’s first mohair creation. First manufactured in the 1950s, Chick Mohair is now quite rare and highly prized. Although Terri Lee was one of the first companies to promote ethnic diversity in the 1940s, Tiny Bonnie Lou and Benjie mark the introduction of ethnicity into the 10” Tiny Terri line. Terri Lee and Jerri Lee Racing Colours sport vivid racing silks in tribute to founder Violet Gradwohl’s love of horse racing.
Rounding out the collection are Terri Lee Pretty in Pink — a rosy vision in frock and petticoats; cherubic Linda Baby Dress Set, with crocheted accessories; and Terri Lee Nanook, sure to be prized by the many devotees of Terri Lee Eskimo figures.
Manufactured from the original molds, these dolls continue the legacy of outstanding workmanship, attention to detail and love of high fashion that made Terri Lee a collector favorite in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
Cited #4 of the top 100 Dolls of All Time by Doll Reader in 2002, Terri Lee was introduced in 1946 and named for founder Violet Lee Gradwohl’s daughter. She has survived two devastating fires and the demise of two major companies to remain a true icon in the collector doll industry.
